Fleabass was founded in 2009 by Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea. The company's mission was to provide affordable high quality basses aimed at young learners. The Touring Bass (MSRP $499) and Junior Bass (MSRP $399) models were finished in eye-catching contrasting colors "Sunny Bass"(yellow/orange), "Water Bass" (orange/blue), "Punk Bass" (pink/green) and "The Wild One" (white/black). The Touring Bass was full scale length (34 inches) and the Junior Bass was short scale length (30 inches) .There was also a cheaper version called the Street Bass (MSRP $299) which came in black, grey, white or blue finish. Fleabass instruments were made in China. By 2011 Flea decided to close the company, after around 2000 Fleabasses had been sold.
