Gallan was the brand name of Japanese distributor and wholesaler Kyowa Shokai. Gallan instruments were made in the 1970s by the Matsumoto Musical Instruments Union cooperative. At first the Gallans were lower quality Gibson and Fender copies of electric and acoustic designs. Later Gallan guitars were typically Gibson inspired and had superior quality.
