George Gray started out working with Jean Larrivee in 1976 before opening his own workshop in Markham, Toronto. He left guitar building for a while in the 1990s to run his family's business but returned to building guitars in 2008.

in about 1985 my new born rode a plastic tryke over my guitar and really smashed it up. Someone (maybe Toronto Folklore Centre) suggested George. I found him in Markham. He did an amazing restoration right down to the nitro sunburst finish. Still play it every day today. I tried to find him many years ago to thank him again, but I had no luck. I hope this comment gets to him somehow.
