Information:

Casa Gonzalez flamenco & classical guitars were made in Madrid, Spain from the mid 1800s onwards. Their labels refer to awards won by Francisco Gonzalez at the 1866 exhbition of the Sociedad Matritense in Zaragoza and the Paris International Exposition of 1867 - the second world's fair. Francisco Gonzalez is said to have been Jose Ramirez's teacher and an important figure in the Madrid school of guitar making. After Francisco Gonzalez died in 1879, his widow moved the workshop from Carrera de San Geronimo to calle Cadiz and then finally to 33 calle Carretas. The workshop was managed by Francisco's son in law Enrique Romans Papell - who continued Casa Gonzalez well into the 20th century.
