- acoustic guitars
Carmelo Gugino was a instrument maker in the 1930s to 1940s in Buffalo, New York. He made archtop and flat-top guitars as well as other stringed instruments. Gugino was also an architect and inventor, who held several patents. Gugino had a very innovative approach to instrument making - he developed a demountable neck using a neck through design that could be removed from a channel in the body with the strings still attached. He died in 1946 after making around 250 guitars in total.
