Information:

Michael Gurian started making classical guitars in the mid 1960s in Carmine Street, Greenwich Village. In 1969 he founded Gurian Guitars Inc. and left New York for Hinsdale, New Hampshire. He added steel stringed acoustic and electric acoustics to his range as well as mandolins. Gurian selected, sawed and seasoned all his own woods at his factory. He relocated to  West Swanzey, New Hampshire after a fire at the Hinsdale factory but eventually stopped making guitars in the early 1980s in favour of selling wood, manufacturing services and components to other makers via Gurian Instruments Incorporated (now based in Seattle).
