Jim Howard makes acoustic and electric guitars in Boyne City, Michigan. Jim built his first guitar as a 17 year old. He then woodcarving which lead to furniture building which eventually lead to his own cabinet making business. It was 30 years before he made his second guitar. In 2004, he started Howard Guitars and he focuses mainly on making custom acoustic guitars with the odd solid body electric.
