Indie Guitars was formed in the UK in 2002, by Keith Willis and Ian Carnell. Up until 2007 at least, Indie products were made in three South Korean factories:  Electric guitars, Acoustic guitars and a separate guitar pick-up factory. It seems at some point after 2007 Indie was sold to another company and production was moved from Korea to China. Circa 2017 Indie guitars are now distributed by Gear Stream.
