Guitar designer and builder Joe Knaggs founded Knaggs Guitars in 2009, in collaboration with marketing expert Peter Wolf. Both Wolf and Knaggs had many years of experience in the guitar manufacturing industry. The company's first guitar was shipped in March 2010, by 2011 they were making up 20 guitars a month and by 2016 this had become around 40 per month. Knaggs offer a range of high end acoustic, electric and bass guitars named after American Indian rivers. The Chesapeake line models Choptank, Severn, Potomac & Patuxent are named after tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay while the Influence line Kenai, Keya, Chena, Sheyenne are named after rivers in North America.
