Joe Konkoly is a guitar builder and repairman based in Grand Ledge, Michigan. He attended a course at The Vermont Instrument Workshop with George Morris in the spring of 1982. He then spent the next five years building up his own luthiery business in western Pennsylvani before going to work for Elderly Instruments in Lansing, Michigan. While at Elderly he trained under the vintage Martin repair expert and OM specialist T. J. Thompson. When Thompson left in 1993 Joe took over the repair shop at Elderly, while continuing to build guitars in his home shop.
