Kyser Musical Products was founded by Milton Kyser in East Texas in 1980. Kyser was a machinist who in 1985 invented a capo with a quick change trigger mechanism - which guitarists could use one handed. Over the years Kyser added care and cleaning products to its line of accessories. In 2012, towards the end of his life, Milton Kyser handed over the management of the company to his niece Meredith.
