Lance S. Lerman founded LSL instruments in 2008. Lerman previously worked at the 5th String as an instrument repairman, before starting D&L Instruments with Joe Deetz, making electric guitars. He founded California Wood Products in 1983, after 16 years running that business (which became Sequoia Wood Products) he finally closed it 1998. He then moved to China to build and run large furniture and woodworking factories, where he started making guitars again in his spare time. This led to the establishment of LSL, which now makes electric guitars and basses in California - mostly based on Fender designs.
