Lucem Guitars are hand made in Cumbria, UK by Graham Skimming. Skimming has been making guitars since a 1995 school project. Following an engineering apprenticeship he went on to study guitar making and electronics at the Leeds College of Music and graduated with a HND in Musical Instrument Technology in 2003. He started his own business making and repairing instruments with regular work from Overwater, Northern Sounds and many respected Cumbrian musicians. The brand Lucem was first registered in 2017 by Skimming's Electrical Engineering & Design company Tonelabs Ltd. In 2019 Lucem launched the Silver Series - more affordable Korean made versions of its hand made custom designs.
