- electric guitars
The Marinucci company started in Recanati in 1922 and was active until the early 1980's. It was one of the many Italian accordion makers that turned to guitar building in the 1950s and 1960s as fashions changed. In the early 1960's the Marinucci company built a large factory in Recanati, possibly with the aim of supplying OEM guitars for the many accordion makers in the region.
The company founder, Erideo Marinucci, however died in 1964. The Marinucci factory was sold to Eko, who then stopped suppling the smaller local makers (like Bartolini-Gemelli) and concentrated on the Eko brand and larger OEM orders likes of Vox and Silvertone.
Marinucci branded guitars are relatively rare, they are marked with the Marinucci logo which is the coat of arms of the city of Recanati - a lion rampant with a sword and crown and the words "justissima civitas reginetti" - city of the most righteous queen.
