Mercury electric guitars were made in Berkeley California from 1995 until about 1999. The company consisted of four people,  they used hand selected wood from renewable sources wherever possible, and used an ecologically sound water based finish.  In 1997 they offered four standard models: Artemis I, Artemis II, El Grande and The Chief. Most of their sales were via mail order.
