Motor Ave. Guitars was founded in 2002 by Mark Fuqua who makes each MotorAve guitar himself. Fuqua initially worked at Chandler where he assembled finished parts into guitars. He worked in guitar repair business, vintage guitars, for independent builders, and ended up with a successful repair shop in Los Angeles. At this time he made a few guitars, two of which ended up with Alain Johannes and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. This exposure led to many orders for MotorAve so Fuqua closed the repair business to build full time.
