- electric guitars
Murphy Shaw guitars were made from 1973 to 1977 by Tim Shaw and Patrick Murphy in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The original partners were later joined by Chuck Burge and Loring James. They made a total of around 107 Les Paul style electric guitars which were mostly sold direct or via music stores in the mid-west. Tim Shaw went to work for Gibson and Fender, where he established his reputation as a pickup designer.
