Norman Wood made mandolins and guitars by hand in Sennen, Cornwall - almost as far south as you can get in mainland UK. He was making them from the early 1970s onwards (and possibly earlier). Wood died in 1997. His guitars had several innovative features including stainless steel rod frets and a stepped bowl back.
