The Anastasios were a family of French Sicilian luthiers known for their classical guitars and Selmer style gypsy jazz acoustic guitars. Francois Anastasio opened his Montreuil workshop in 1954. His son Pierre Anastasio took over in 1972 and made instruments for many famous guitarists including: Angelo Debarre, Raphael Fays, Didi Duprat, Laurent Bajata, Serge Camps, Boulou Ferré, Patrick Saussois and Moreno Winterstein. Pierre died in 2007 and the lobby of the Montreuil Conservatory of Music was named in his honour.
