Stuart Spectors introduced his first commerical bass model, the Spector NS-Bass, to much acclaim in 1977. Spector basses became a division of Kramer in the 1980s. The Kramer company then folded in the 1990s and with it the Spector Bass brand. Since then Spector regained control of the Spector Basses brand.
In its current form, STUART SPECTOR DESIGNS, LTD. of Saugerties, New York, is a small manufacturing company which makes electric bass guitars and electric guitars with operations on three continents; North America, Europe and Asia.
