J.F. Stetson was a brand of W.J. Dyer & Bros of St. Paul & Minneapolis used from the 1880s until the 1920s. There were Stetson branded banjos, guitars and mandolins made for W.J. Dyer by various other companies including:  Oscar Schmidt, Washburn, Harmony and Larson Brothers.
