Musical instrument maker Strunal Schönbach is based in Luby in the Czech Republic and was founded in 1922 as Cremona. When it was privatised in 1992 Strunal was exporting Strunal and Amada branded guitars as well as Josef Jan Dvorak branded bowed instruments. Amada and Strunal guitars were initially distrubuted in the USA by Geneva International Corporation (Wheeling, Illinois) until 1997 when Strunal set up its own subsidiary, Strunal America Inc (Mountainside, New Jersey) which became the sole supplier in North America.
