Jim Worland made his first acoustic instrument in 1991 - a simple banjo. He progressed to making acoustic guitars and in 1997 went to study with Charles Fox. Eventually he was able to quit his day job as a design engineer to become a full time guitar maker. Currently he builds custom acoustic, electric and lap-steel guitars and other string instruments also teaches guitar making on a one-on-one basis.
