Yamaoka Archtop Guitars are all handmade by Luthier Norimasa Yamaoka in Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan. Yamaoka began making guitars in 2002. Yamaoka created his original chamber bodied construction with a focus on playability without feedback. His archtop guitars are played by top Japanese jazz guitarists like Kazumi Watanabe, Toshiki Fukawa and Shigeki Ohata. Yamaoka's original floating pickups aim to make the instrument sound more acoustical. The weakest point of floating pickup has been their tendency to feed-back, however Yamaoka Archtops guitar's use his "King Post Construction" to control this problem. Yamaoka uses the Strings Art brand name.
