The Carmelo Catania Mod 22 is an unusual looking acoustic Jazz guitar - dating from the 1950s. It uses solid wood construction: with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The rosewood fret board has large circular inlays. It has an adjustable rosewood, bridge with a tailpiece. The 19 fret neck is maple and both neck and body are bound. Tuners are nickel plated. It has a scale length of 67 cm.
The slotted head stock has an oval cut-out hole at the top, and "Carmelo Catania, Catania, Made in Italy" printed in a diamond shape.
Unusual features are an ornate white plastic sound hole cover / rosette and a slotted white plastic arm-rest
