Production of the SUPERHAWK began in 1984 and ended in 1990. It was the two humbucker version of the single-humbucker Rampage model. The original G&L Superhawk was discontinued in 1990 but, after two decades out of production, G&L reissued a Superhawk Jerry Cantrell signature Superhawk in 2012. Although Cantrell is better known as a G&L Rampage player and didn't use the Superhawk models during the 1980s. The new Cantrell Superhawk has one less tone control than the original model.
Eddie Vasker, an owner of a rare pink Superhawk, supplied the following information:
"I own a very rare 'Pink' color Superhawk, The only other Pink Superhawk was owned by Guitar Player here in Dallas, TX, named Tommy Hyett. He was also Annie Clark's ( aka, St. Vincent) guitar techer. G & L only made a handfull in Pink."
