Kyoto brand guitar

I have searched all my usual sources and I can't find any record of the Kyoto brand. Do you have any pictures or information on your Kyoto guitar? If so, e-mail them to me at [email protected] and I will start a Kyoto page.

Kyoto guitars

I don't know anything about them except that Crispian St. Peters (Pied Piper) appears to have played one. See http://crispianstpeters.tripod.com/.

Kyoto brand guitar

I am fortunate enough to own a Kyoto classical guitar. I bought it new in (I'm guessing) 1973 from a music shop in Cardiff for 35 pounds. I was amazed at the sound and how well it played. The model is J9770 and the serial number is 740719 and it says "Made in Japan", which I believe. I think its a cedar top, rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, but could be wrong. We've been together for all these years, and I still play it. Since I now live in Phoenix AZ, the wood is nice and dry and it sounds even better than when I first bought it, although I now have to use high tension strings to keep the action perfect. I replaced the tuners a few years ago as I wore the old ones out. All my guitars are asian except for my Martin. The Kyoto is my only classical, I love it and plan on keeping it forever, as I've had about $350,000 worth of pleasure from it, so far.

Kyoto guitar

I have a Kyoto classical guitar. I don't know too much about it because a friend of the family gave it to me when she heard I wanted to learn. I think it's about 17 years old but it's in good condition. I don't play it much anymore since I switched to bass guitar a few years ago so I might be willing to sell it if your interested. You can contact me at [email protected].

Kyoto guitar

I have owned a Kyoto for about 25 years and only recently started playing it again. It really is a good guitar but i don't know any history of the brand. To me it looks like a Martin copy.

Kyoto guitar

I recently started playing guitar, I am still young (Only 13, nearly 14) and my mom gave me her Kyoto acoustic guitar. It was about 40 pounds and it just about 35 years old. It has been played quite a lot by her, then my brother and now me. But after all the years, the white bar on the top of the G string is after waring away just slightly, it still sounds perfect but I only use it for plucking strings.

Kyoto Guitar

My friend, most of the Kyoto Brand guitar were made in the early 60's, 70's and until the 80's. The company is branded in JAPAN but it is actually made in Korea. It is usually constructed with a steel reinforced neck, which would hold tone and tune. It is a pretty stable guitar and were roughly around $30 in the 60's and 70's which would roughly cost you around $130 nowadays. Be thankful that you have one and try to take care of it because it's a rare guitar that could hold and play with the likes of Martin's, Takamine's.

Kyoto accustic guitar

I have a kyoto accustic guitar. I believe these are from the 1960s, to 1970s. It's in great condition. I bought it from a friend but circumstances have changed so needing to sell. I'm looking for around the £100 mark. Cheap price for a vintage accustic. I'm not sure how to put a picture on hear. But if we swap details I could send you a photo on WhatsApp. Many thanks.

I've got a Kyoto K160 Steel

I've got a Kyoto K160 Steel String. It is at least 50 years old, but in excellent conditions.

I would like to know if Kyoto still exists and if they still build guitars.

kyoto guitar

My father played in numerous bands when I was a child. I have one of his giutars. I gave it to my son with special needs and he plays it everyday. I dont know anything about the brand, but its a beautiful musical instrument. Its a pleasure to hear my son play my fathers guitar because the sound brings me back to when I was a little girl.

Kyoto guitar

My wife has just bought me a gorgeous Kyoto guitar she found on an Internet sell/ swap site

Apparently the lady who was selling it was selling it on behalf of her father who owned it many years and never played it!

Really wish I knew a bit more about them and more importantly what it could be worth

Kyoto guitar

Yes, my husband is selling one. It's on E-bay today. He's had it since early 1970's, Its in V.G.C, and has lovely sound..

Kyoto classical guitar

I was given a Kyoto classical guifar in the early 80's as a 21st birthday present. My teacher in Cape Town recommended it. Its a great guitar and still sounds great.

Kyoto Classical guitar

I have a Kyoto classical guitar that I found at an off the beaten path flea market. The lady that sold it to me said she would let me have for only $12 since it only had one string. Little did she know. What a deal. It's in excellent condition and was made in Korea. I read somewhere that anything made after 1965 was made in Japan after the Korean factory closed. Although I haven't been able to confirm it anywhere.
