GIBSON manufactured the CF-100 between 1950 and 1959, it was the only 50s Gibson flat top with a cutaway. This model was also available with a P-90 pickup as the CF-100e (introduced in 1951). Only around 1700 Gibson CF-100s were made in total. Gibson described the CF-100 as follows in their 1957 brochure:

"Another innovation, the Gibson CF-100 has been acclaimed by Flat Top Guitar devotees, who are enthusiastic over the new playing ease afforded by its Florentine Cutaway design. The clear resonant tone, the choice quality materials and Gibson expert craftsmanship are enhanced by the deluxe styling and beautiful Golden Sunburst Finish.  Selected spruce top with Honduras mahogany back and rims, attractive ivoroid binding and purfling rings. Slim Honduras mahogany neck with adjustable Truss Rod construction, Gibson designed peghead with attractive pearl inlays. Bound, rosewood fingerboard, with large pearl inlays. Shell finish finger-rest, rosewood bridge and nickel plated enclosed machine heads. 

SPECIFICATIONS:  14.25” wide, 19" long, 4.5" deep, 24.75” scale, 20 frets. Sunburst Finish."
