One of the original Danelectro models, the Model C  featured the coke bottle headstock. It had a small 11 inches wide body, with a single cutaway. This model was also known as the Peanut, due to its ginger colour and body shape.

Construction of the body used a poplar wood frame for the sides, neck and central bridge block of the guitar, stapled together and covered with 3/8" thick  painted masonite top and back. The unpainted sides were covered in vinyl to hide the poplar frame.

It had a small pickguard and 2 exposed pickups, wrapped in brown vinyl tape in earlier models, then by unplated lipstick tubes and finally the familiar chromed lipstick tubes. They used real lipstick tubes from a lipstick factory.
