The Epiphone De Luxe was made between 1931 and 1957. The Epiphone DeLuxe was their top of the range archtop acoustic. From 1931 to 1935 these were known as the Masterbilt DeLuxe model, with a 16.375 inches wide grand auditorium sized body, unbound dobro style segmented f-holes and gold plated trapeze tailpiece. In 1936 the body was increased to 17.375 inches wide (with standard shaped bound f-holes), cloud inlays and a Frequensator tailpiece.

EPIPHONE manufactured the De Luxe Cutaway between 1953 and 1970

EPIPHONE made the De Luxe Regent between 1949 and 1953. It was the single cutaway version of the Epiphone De Luxe archtop acoustic. These were top of the line instruments, with hand-carved book matched spruce tops, figured curly maple back and sides, gold plated hardware and Brazilian rosewood fingerboards. The electrified version of this model was known as the Zephyr De Luxe Regent.

This model was replaced by the De Luxe Cutaway model in 1954.

EPIPHONE manufactured the DEVON between 1949 and 1957

EPIPHONE re-labeled their Emperor Regent acoustic archtop as the Emperor Cutaway in 1953, although these cutaway Emperors had been around since 1948. The Emperor Cutaway was a special order model - made until around 1957, and had a carved solid spruce arched top. These acoustic Emperors often have a floating pickup fitted by their owners, as they make great jazz guitars.

A Japanese version of this model was made for the Japanese market from 1975 until 1979 - as the Emperor-C model
