EPIPHONE NEWPORT SERIES

EPIPHONE NEWPORT BASS

The Epiphone Newport bass (EBS) was a Gibson Kalamazoo made instrument available between 1961 and 1969. The Newport's short 30.5 inch scale length and light weight make it a very comfortable instrument to play. When first introduced the Newport had a symmetrical mahogany body, with two per-side open-book style head-stock. In 1964 the lower body horn was shortened, the pickguard enlarged and the head-stock changed to a four-in-a-row bat-wing design. The Epiphone Newport's design owes a lot Gibson EB0 and the Newport has a Gibson EB0 mini humbucker and similar bar bridge
