The first Gibson-licensed set-neck Epiphone Les Paul Standards (and Customs) were made in 1989 at the Korean Samick Factory. Previous Epiphone Les Pauls had been flat topped bolt-on neck models (the LP1, LP2 and LP3 models) but from 1989 the EPiphone Les Pauls more closely resembled the originals - with carved capped tops. The left handed version has been available since at least 1996 - possibly earlier.
