The Epiphone Les Paul Special II is a no-frills Les Paul style electric introduced in 1996. It has two exposed coil humbucking pickups controlled by one volume knob, one tone knob and a three-way pickup selector switch. The pickups were originally Epiphone Alnico Classics but more recently this model has Epiphone 650R and 700T pickups. The bridge is a Tune-O-Matic with a stop-bar tailpiece. They typically have a basswood or mahogany body with a bolt-on mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard (with plastic dot inlays. There is no binding or carved top on this guitar.

Production of the T-310 (MODEL EGT1) began in 1989 and ended in 2000

EPIPHONE made the T-310 Custom between 1995 and 1997

The Korean made X-1000 had a double cutaway body with a laminated maple through neck. The bound fretboard was synthetic ebony with chevron inlays. Headstock was also bound.

The hardware was black. Bridge was a tremolo (Steinberger KB trem from 1988 to 1989). Pickups were EMG Select: 2 single coils and a humbucker with single volume and tone controls. Each pickup had its own mini-switch (a coil tap for the humbucker was added on one of the knobs in 1988-1989) Colours were Ebony, Red, and Silver.
