The 1962 50th Anniversary Epiphone Sorrento was a limited edition thinline archtop reissued in 2013 (1,962 were made). It was based on the original Sorrento first produced at the Gibson & Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1962, the same factory that produced the Gibson Les Paul Standard, Gibson SG, and the 335.

Epiphone reissued the Sorrento archtop from 1993 to 1997. It had two dog-ear P90 pickups and a single cutaway archtop body design. The Sorrento was reissued again in 2013 as the "1962 Sorrento" model. It was available with an optional Vibrola tailpiece and also as a left handed model.

The single pickup Epiphone Sorrento (E452T) was introduced in 1960. It was a hollow bodied archtop very similar in design to the Gibson ES-125TC, with one mini PAF humbucker in the neck position. A  vibrato tailpiece was an optional extra. There were several changes to this model during the 1960s. The initial E452T had dot fingerboard markers and a metal headstock logo plate. In 1962 the fingerboard inlays were changed to ovals and the headstock logo was screen printed on. In 1965 the headstock shape was elongated. This model was discontinued in 1969.

Production of the Sorrento (Two Pickups) began in 1960 and ended in 1970
