Designed for jazz players. Single cutaway. The 1949 had Tone Spectrum pickups (2) with one volume and one tone control going away from the strings. Beginning in late '49 or early '50 the controls were parallel with the strings and New York pickups were added. It is a large guitar with a full, rich sound. They are easy on the fingers.
