So ... i have been playing acoustic guitar for 20 years, have owned a Taylor, a Seagull, couple of top Normans St40 and St68, a Tacoma DM9, a Furch D22CM and i have also owned 4 Garrisons a G20, a G40, a G41 and a G50. I have kept the best of these which are the Garrison G41, G50, Norman ST68, Tacoma DM9 and Furch D22. Suffice to say that the Garrison G50 is about the best sounding guitar i own, for balanced sound with lots of top end overtones, and full bass. I picked mine up for around £400 which is silly money for a top end all solid acoustic guitar. To give you an idea of how good this guitar is, let me just say: I used to frequent guitar shops and spend time with the guitars priced in the £1000-£2000 price bracket. These days with the aforementioned collection, i can honestly say that anything Martin or Taylor or other can offer at the £1500 price bear no comparison to the likes of the guitars i now own such as the Garrison G50. As i write there is a Garrison G50 on ebay for £340 ...its been there for a year and no one wants it because it is a lesser known make. unbelievable!

I've owned this guitar for 12 years, and it's still in great condition, no issues. Nice and warm sounding, a traditional woody sounding guitar. Not bright like a Taylor or Martin. Holds its own against guitars 4 x the value.

I purchased a 7 year old Garrison G50 guitar based on the sound quality and sustain. Previously (when I had money), I had owned several vintage Martins and an older Gibson SJN (which I had to sell to put food on the table). Since I hadn't a decent steel string flat top acoustic to play for several years, I set out to find a solid rosewood body acoustic. Well, I answered a well written ad for a Garrison G50 in Craigslist in Charlotte NC. I was totally blown away by the quality sound of this guitar. In short, I bought it. Now, I am in search of its 12 string brother, a G50 too! For the money, I haven't found any guitar which comes close to the Garrison. I am concerned of its long term durability (will it fall apart?). Time will tell. If anyone has or knows of a 12 string G50 for sale, let me know. Thanks. Irwin at [email protected] P.S. I am embarrassed to tell how much I paid for the G50 (low$).
