GIBSON made the HERITAGE between 1965 and 1982. It was a traditional square shouldered jumbo flat top dreadnought guitar with a small tortoiseshell pick-guard which set off the natural spruce top.It had a square shouldered body with a rich. dark rosewood back and sides. selected spruce top, extra slim Mahogany neck for last low-action with adjustable Truss Rod.  The 20 fret ebony fingerboard had pearl dot inlays. The fingerboard was bound from 1973 onwards. Shell binding on top and back. Ebony bridge with adjustable Ebony saddle and traditional bridge pins. Chrome-plated machine heads. Dimensions 16.25" wide, 20.25" long 4.875" deep with 25.5" scale length and 20 frets.

 

In 1968 a deluxe version of the Heritage was available.
