The Gibson Songwriter Dreadnought was made in 1998 as the WM10 model. In 2013 Gibson's Montana factory were also making Songwriter Dreadnought instruments exclusively for the Musician's Friend music shop. These newer models are fitted with Fishman's Ellipse Matrix Blend System.
Gibson also makes a Songwriter Deluxe Standard Dreadnought.
