The Gibson ES-335 was originally designed to encompass the benefits of a solidbody guitar, but with the style of an acoustic archtop. Altough it was introduced in 1958, the most desirable version is the 1959 model - and this is the model that Gibson have based their reissue on. The 1959 ES-335 Dot Reissue retains the original construction, with the solid maple center block for sustain and resistance to feedback, and arched laminated maple top, back, and sides for added hollowbody-like warmth.

GIBSON introduced the 1963 ES-335 BLOCK REISSUE in 1998 as part of the Custom Shop Historic Collection. It is very similar to the Custom Shop 1959 ES-335 Dot reissue - except the neck profile is thinner and of course it has block inlays instead of dots. The 1963 ES-335 model had several refinements on the earlier ES-335s and these are captured in the Custom Shop reissue. Gibson replaced the dot fingerboard inlays with blocks in the 1963 model and at the same time gave the neck a slim profile.

The original ES-295 was made between 1952-1959, it was an ES-175 style guitar with a beautiful gold top. This guitar was around at the birth of rock and roll, and Scotty Moore was one of the guitarists of that era who played an ES-295. Most of us weren't around in 1952 to get an original ES-295 so GIbson kindly reissued the ES-295 as a Custom Shop model capturing the essence of the 1952 ES-295.

The reissued ES-295s were also available in the 1990s as part of the Historic Collection - including one with a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece (from 1998-2000).

GIBSON manufactured the ES-330 (HS30-NH) between 1998 and 2000 as part of their Historic Collection.

Production of the ES-336 (ES36NH) began in 1997 and ended in 2000

The Gibson ES-345 was originally launched in 1958, at the same time as the ES-335. The ES-345 was designed as a slightly more deluxe version of the 335: with a multi-position "Varitone" switch, an optional stereophonic output jack, gold-plated hardware, large parallelogram fingerboard inlays, and  thicker edge binding than the ES-335.

The GIBSON Custom Shop made the ES-346 (ES346GH) between 1997 and 2000. The ES-346 had a reduced size ES-335 style body and a slimmed down headstock giving a straight string pull across the nut (PRS style). It came in emberglow or gingerburst finishes.

The Gibson Custom Shop reissued the ES-350 T during the 1990s.  The design of the 350T evolved from the Byrdland - the 350T has a plainer more affordable design.

The original Gibson Tal Farlow model was the rarest of the 1960s Gibson archtops with only 215 ever made between 1962 and 1967. However since the 1990s, Gibson custom shop reissues mean that these days anyone can get their hands on the Tal Farlow model. The body is similar in shape  to the Gibson ES-5 but it with a faux-scroll cutaway, inverted J-200 fingerboard inlays, double-crown headstock inlays, and a special Tal Farlow trapeze tailpiece with an inlaid rosewood block.
