The Gibson ES-335 Studio was first made between 1987 and 1994. It was just like the Gibson ES-335 but without any f-holes - like a plainer version of the BB King Lucille model.
In 2013 Gibson released a stripped down ES-335 Studio model with a single Dirty Fingers Plus humbucker, baked maple fingerboard and two controls only, a trapeze tailpiece and a plastic cover over the place where the neck pickup was.

GIBSON ES-335 Studio reviewed by Paul

I have a 1989 Gibson 335 Studio that is one of my go-to guitars and which has seen many many gigs. My guitar has a big chunky neck and two dirty finger pickups. The guitar can produce a wide variety of sounds, given the use of the standard 335 tone selection method (volume and tone control for each pickup and three position switch). It has an access panel on the rear for access to the pots and switch which makes cleaning pots and making repairs very easy. This guitar is well constructed and has stood up to trying conditions without a whimper! I LOVE this guitar and am so happy we found each other!
