The 2015 Gibson Les Paul Traditional was a new variation on the Gibson Les Paul Traditional electric guitar model, The Les Paul Traditional was first introduced in 2008 as a more traditional alternative to the new 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Body material and shape

The 2015 model has a 2 piece solid mahogany body with no weight relief holes (completely solid body). It has a class A+ flame maple top traditionally used to make these carved top Gibson Les Paul guitars.

Neck material and profile

The neck material is mahogany and this model has the Gibson Les Paul XL neck profile. The XL profile is inspired by the rounded necks found on Vintage 1950s Gibson Les Paul electric guitars. The fingerboard material is rosewood, with trapezoid position markers. It has a zero fret nut and no fret binding.

Pickups, controls and electronics

The pickups are 2 1959 Tribute Humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions. It has the well known Gibson Les Paul four control lay out with 2 volume and 2 tone controls. All are 500K Non-Linear Potentiometers. These controls are hand wired and the potentiometers have super-grip speed knobs. As a Traditional series electric guitar it does not have split coils or booster circuits, just the three way pickup-selector switch.

Hardware

Hardware is nickel and includes G-Force tuners (robot tuning system), Nashville tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece.

Identifying features

Other identifying features are the Traditional model name on the truss-rod cover and a Gibson Les Paul hologram on back of the headstock. This year has the "Les Paul 100" logo on the headstock
