GIBSON ALL AMERICAN IIGIBSON manufactured the ALL AMERICAN II between 1996 and 1998. The design was based on the early Melody Makers, but it had chrome tuners, no scratch plate, rear-mounted controls and a tremolo bridge. It had two high output single coil pickups. The following information about the Gibson All American II was contributed by a guitar-list.com visitor. The Gibson All American II is an unusual model for Gibson, produced in Nashville Tennessee only in the mid 1990s. The body shape is similar to Non-SG shaped Melody Makers or a 1959 Les Paul Junior Special.

GIBSON FUTURA (CORVUS STYLE)The original Gibson Futura was an electric guitar designed in 1957 and patented in 1958 (U.S. patent number 181,865) which was the precursor of the Gibson Explorer. These mahogany prototypes, dubbed the Futura in later years, looked the production Explorers, but had a slightly different body with a split or forked headstock. In 1996 Gibson eventually put this design into production as the 1957 Futura Korina Reissue.

GIBSON S-1Production of the Gibson S-1 began in 1975 and ended in 1980. It was like the Gibson Maurader (using the same body design and Flying V neck) but had three single coil pickups. The three Bill Lawrence designed epoxy blade single coil pickups combined with the bolt-on neck joint meant the Gibson S-1 was capable of sounding almost like a Stratocaster. The circuitry on the S-1 was also designed by Bill Lawrence and it is a versatile system.

GIBSON U-2GIBSON manufactured the U-2 between 1987 and 1994. Along with the US-1 the U-2 was Gibson's response to the booming popularity of superstrats in the 1980s. In 1988 Gibson offered a limited edition of this model called the Showcase Edition U2, 200 were made in total. The U-2's pickups are selected using the three mini switches under the volume control knob (a push pull control which acts as a coil split for the humbucker when pressed) , the first one being used for the neck pickup the middle switch for the middle on and the third switch for the Humbucker.
GIBSON US-1GIBSON produced the US-1 between 1987 and 1994. The US-1 was a superstrat style guitar designed by Wayne Charvel and was Gibson's first mass produced superstrat. It had a basswood body frame with a balsa core to reduce weight (like the Studio Lite models) but the top and back were bound figured maple. The bridge was either a Steinberger KB locking tremolo (1988 onwards) or a Kahler Pro tune-o-matic with stop tailpiece. The pickups were three "New Design" humbuckers - one full size and two stacked coils.

GIBSON VICTORY MV-2The Gibson VICTORY MV-2 was made between 1981 and 1984. The Gibson Multi Voice (MV) guitars were designed to produce both the classic Gibson tones (think ES335 or Les Paul) and the classic single coil tones (think Stratocaster and Telecaster). The two pickup configuration and circuitry of the MV-2 were designed to be able to emulate the Fender Telecaster. According to Gibson: |
