GIBSON introduced the Q-400 superstrat in 1985 and 1987. It was renamed the Q-4000 in late 1985 and production continued until 1987 - making the Q-4000 the longest lived of these Gibson Q / Alpha series superstrats. Pickups were one Dirty Fingers humbucking pickup at the bridge and two single coil pickups.
