GIBSON introduced the SG CLASSIC in 1999. Based on the SG Special of the late 1960s it had two P-90 pickups 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays, tune-o-matic bridge with ABR tailpiece, chrome hardware. It was discontinued for a while in 2001 but has since been reintroduced - including a SG Classic Faded model.
