The SG Deluxe FIREBRAND was made between 1979 and 1981. It had a solid mahogany body with a revolutionary finish designed to look rustic and rough. The Gibson logo was branded on the peghead. They cost around $550 when new in 1980.

I bought one in early 1981...an 80 model. It is my go to guitar; great neck, killer tone clean or dirty, nice frets. Mine has zebra pickup at the bridge for extra bite. I will part with mine when I die, and I have had many offers. If you can buy one, do it. You will not regret it.
