Take your pick from this extensive range of Gibson 1939 guitar flat-picks. They came in all shapes and sizes - from the long and skinny #70 to the triple edged #73, most were celluloid but some were felt or even genuine tortoiseshell.

Gibson Eddie Lang Pick (No. 80-L)

Gibson's Eddie Lang pick (no. 80-L) - was the signature pick of Eddie Lang the father of jazz guitar. The Eddie Lang pick was made from brown celluloid tortoise shell, stamped with "Lang", had a laminated white corrugated grip and came in medium or heavy thickness. They cost $1.50 for a dozen in 1939 - although Lang had died six years earlier in 1933 .

Gibson Harry Reser Pick (No. 81-R)

Gibson's Harry Reser pick (no. 81-R) - was the signature pick of Harry Reser a 1920s and 1930s superstar banjo player and band leader. The Harry Reser pick was made form white celluloid tortoishell, stamped with "Reser" and had a laminated brown corrugated grip. They cost $1.50 for a dozen in 1939.

Gibson's pick no. 20 was the cheapest of their range in 1939 - selling at 20 cents for a dozen. It came in assorted colors including a vari-colored one. The no. 20 was polished but not bevelled and available as light thickness only.

Gibson Pick No. 309 was made from genuine tortoise shell, imported from France and carefully polished and bevelled. This pick also came in medium (316) and small (315) sizes and in light, medium and heavy thickness.
