The Gretsch TK300 (models 7627 and 7626) was made between 1978 and 1981. It had an angular offset double cutaway maple body with nearly straight lines and an unusual indentation at the bottom. It also had an eyecatching pickguard on which were mounted the single Supertron pickup and simple controls (volume and tone). Finish options were natural (7627) or red stain (7626). Undoubtedly the most radical bass departure of the Baldwin era but the TK300 didn’t win many over, and it was quickly discontinued.
