The Gretsch G6120-SSU Brian Setzer Signature model was introduced in 1994 as a customized version of Brian's 1959 6120. It features an adjustable bridge with ebony base, a bound ebonized rosewood neck with neo-classic thumbnail inlays, combination gold and chrome hardware. Equipped with a Gretsch Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, 3-way pickup selector switch, master tone switch, master and individual pickup volume controls and a set of vintage Filtertron Alnico pickups. In 2004 the Grestch filtertrons were replaced by TV Jones pickups.

The G6120-SSU had polyurethane finish but was also available with nitocellulose laquer finish as the G6120-SSL.
