The Guild D-50CE is a single cutaway electro-acoustic version of Guild's famous D-50 dreadnought. Available (initally) in 2003 only, it had an ebony fingerboard & bridge and Chesterfield headstock logo. These original models had Fishman PrefixPRO Blend preamp system including a Fishman Acoustic Matrix under the saddle pickup with a miniature electret condenser microphone mounted on the underside of the preamp chassis. Given the date these 2003 models were probably made in Corona. Tuners were chrome Grovers.

The Guild D-50CE was reissued in 2011-2012 with some design changes: a rosewood fingerboard & bridge, different headstock (with no Chesterfield logo) and D-Tar Wave-Length End Pin Mounted Preamp with Volume and Tone Module, tuners were changed to Gotohs.
