Guitarist in The Allman Brothers Band (since 1999) & founder/guitarist of the Derek Trucks band (at age 15). In 2006 toured with Eric Clapton. Clapton has stated that Trucks is the only slide guitar player that reminds him of Duane Allman. Derek comes from a musical family. His uncle is Butch Trucks, drummer and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. Derek was a guitar prodigy, playing live with the Allman Brothers Band before he was a teen-ager. His guitar technique is highly technical. Derek plays a unique style that includes a jazzy feel as well as being versed in the blues. He is married to blues singer Susan Tedeschi, and the two tour together "as often as possible". Recently (2008) they have been merging bands on occasion to form a collaboration known as "Slow Stew Revival". Derek is extremely down to earth and just a nice guy.
